Our best-selling Hanging Bempton is simply one of the most attractive and practical bird tables around, which is why it’s been added for a contemporary new look. As with most of our products, it is handmade from FSC-certified timber from sustainably managed forests. It features decorative woodwork in a painted grey finish, with an actual Verdigris copper roof and a natural rope for hanging. The balustrade of latticework and arches around the bird table provides a restricted height, a safe area for smaller birds to feed. This space limitation prevents access by larger species such as crows, pigeons, magpies, and seagulls from the food. It also makes life difficult for predatory sparrow hawks whose habit is to target small birds on open feeder tables. Unlike most bird tables that are tricky to clean and become messy, our bird table has a clever detachable side panel and recycled plastic tray, which lift out for easy cleaning. Giving access to the inside edges of the bird table to be brushed out, and removing any old food that may harbor bacteria helps promote excellent bird hygiene standards. Clean and disinfect the feed tray regularly to prevent disease and dry thoroughly before re-use. We recommend an annual repaint using exterior water-based paint to keep the surface sealed to maintain its appearance fully.
